1. WHO ARE WE?

The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics “IMPA” is a non-profit educational and research association, qualified as a Social Organization and linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC).

Therefore, besides offering vacancies for hiring employees, IMPA works in constant collaboration with public authorities and educational institutions in Brazil and abroad, offering academic and professional training programs, scientific works and events, teaching and learning programs, among other opportunities in the educational sector.

 

2. PURPOSE OF THIS PRIVACY NOTICE AND PRESENTATION OF THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

This privacy notice has been developed in attention to Federal Law No. 13,709/2018 (“General Data Protection Law” or “LGPD”), in order to present how we use personal data to perform our activities and carry out our hiring, as well as to clarify the rights ensured by the LGPD in relation to such information.

IMPA has specific purposes for the collection and use of personal data. These purposes and the information involved are presented below.

 

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION OF COLLABORATORS FOR VACANCIES AT IMPA

To apply for a position at IMPA it is necessary to send some data and an updated resume to the e-mail indicated in the announcement.

If you are qualified for the vacancy, you must provide IMPA with additional information so that you can be admitted as a fellow.

IMPA offers several graduate programs, academic master’s degrees, professional master’s degrees, doctoral and post-doctoral degrees, as well as several courses and initiatives. To apply for a position, you must register on IMPA’s institutional platform (https://institucional.impa.br).

REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION IN INSTITUTIONAL EVENTS:

IMPA offers institutional teaching and research events, such as congresses, seminars, conferences, symposiums, thematic programs, among others. It also offers a program of visiting researchers and post-doctoral fellows who collaborate with the institution’s researchers. The Institute also maintains cooperation agreements with scientific centers in Brazil and abroad.

  • Identify the user and confirm the fulfillment of the requirements for participation in institutional teaching and research events;
  • Allow the registration and admission as a participant in institutional events of teaching and research;
  • Enabling the sending of communications to the participant;
  • Allow access to the systems and tools provided by IMPA;
  • Enable the preparation of receipts and accountability reports for funding institutions;
  • To allow the regular exercise of rights assured to IMPA;
  • To select financial aid modalities for participation in events according to the graduation level of the participants;
  • To assist researchers in visa application processes with the Federal Police;
  • To allow the issue of certificates related to the activities performed; and
  • To perform statistical studies about the participation in the courses offered by IMPA.

 

 

APPLICATION AND PARTICIPATION IN THE INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM:

To apply for a scholarship position in the Institutional Capacity Building Program (PCI) at IMPA, in partnership with CNPq, you must fill out an application form and send it to the e-mail address indicated in a public notice.

If qualified for the vacancy, the candidate must provide IMPA with additional information so that he/she can be admitted as a scholarship holder.

APPLICATION AND PARTICIPATION IN THE DEGREE PROGRAM:

To apply for a student position in IMPA’s Graduate Program, the user must fill out an application form and send it through the website indicated in the public Notice.

If you are selected for the position, you must provide IMPA with additional information so that you can be enrolled.

  • Allows the disclosure of awards, theses and publications of the fellows in the IMPA Degree Program site;
  • allow the regular exercise of rights guaranteed to IMPA.

6. DURATION OF TREATMENT AND SAFETY MEASURES

Furthermore, personal data processed by IMPA are kept only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes presented in this privacy notice and for an eventual additional period when necessary to comply with legal obligations.

7. RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

The owners of personal data used by IMPA have rights assured by the LGPD, which can be exercised by sending a request to the contact channel available in this notice. Requests may be made by the data subject himself or by a duly authorized representative.

The exercise of these rights depends on the fulfillment of criteria compatible with the legislation in force, such as the validation of the requester’s identity and the inexistence of technical and/or legal restrictions.

Below, we present the rights guaranteed by the LGPD:

According to the LGPD, it is possible:

  • To request confirmation about the treatment of your personal data by IMPA;
  • Request access to personal data processed by IMPA;
  • Request the correction of personal data, in case they are incorrect, inaccurate or outdated;
  • Request the anonymization, blocking or deletion of personal data, provided that they are unnecessary, excessive or treated in disagreement with LGPD;
  • Request the portability of personal data, in accordance with the regulations of the National Data Protection Authority;
  • Request the elimination of personal data processed with your authorization;
  • Request the revocation of any authorization to process your personal data;
  • To request information about possible consequences in case of non-provision of authorization for data processing;
  • Request information about sharing of personal data with third parties;
  • Request opposition to the processing of personal data performed in disagreement with the LGPD;
  • Request a review of decisions made exclusively in an automated manner (without human participation) and/or the provision of the criteria considered in making this decision; and
  • Petition the National Data Protection Authority in relation to the processing of personal data by IMPA.
