Outreach
The
Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics develops initiatives for the dissemination and popularization of mathematics, either through institutional and promotional events, or encouraging and spreading of scientific culture in the Brazilian society. In between the events that the Mathematics Dissemination Coordination promotes or participates in are:
- 3º Encontro Mulheres Matemáticas do IMPA (may 12, 2023)
- IMPA Portas Abertas (June 13, 2023 and September 20, 2023)
- Prêmio IMPA de Jornalismo (edition 2023)
- Exposição Maryam Mirzakhani (open to the external public in June 13, 2023)
- 75ª Reunião Anual da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência – Curitiba-PR (july 23 to july 29, 2023)
- 20ª Semana Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia no IMPA – Brasília-DF (october 14 to october 20, 2023)
- Festival Nacional da Matemática (next edition in 2024)
IMPA also promotes a great academic projects to public and private school students that aims to stimulate the study of Mathematics and also to look for new talents. In addition, develops a collaborative project for didactic books, in an open source platform that allows a constant update for multiples partners.
