Adilson Gonçalves
Adilson was born in Bangu, Rio de Janeiro where he did his elementary and high school studies, played flying kites, so much soccer even becoming a reasonable right wing, although today he is only a mere supporter of Flamengo soccer team. In mathematics, went much further. After graduating from the National College in Philosophy (now , then earned a master’s degree at IMPA, and a Doctor’s degree at the University of Chicago. Works in Algebra more precisely in the Theory of Groups.
He was Professor at the Universities of Brasília, Federal of Pernambuco, and Federal of Rio de Janeiro and currently works at the State University of Norte-Fluminense. He is the author of a text on the Representation of Groups and co-author of another on Linear Algebra.
