The 58th IMO is barely over and Rio already misses the oldest and most prestigious math competition for high school students. Organized this year by IMPA (Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics), the 2017 edition has set records: 623 competitors from 111 countries.

IMPA produced and published the IMO 2017 NEWS. The publication features Math curiosities, olympiad problems, an interview with Fields medalist Artur Avila and pays hommage to the legacy of Iranian mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani, the only woman so far to be awarded the Fields Medal.
