Marcelo Viana: A mathematician 30 hours a day

The director at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, Marcelo Viana talks about Brazil's entry in the international elite group in mathematics research. He also highlights the country's teaching defficiencies on the field in schools, and the organization of the 28th International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2018). This biggest and most important meeting in the field will happen in August, in Rio de Janeiro.
