Rules for the use of the Study Room

GENERAL
INFORMATION

Read the form below carefully and, if you still have any doubt, please get in contact with the Administrative Support Division through the phones at the bottom of this page.

Go to Room 117 at IMPA – Monday through Friday, from 8h30 to 16h30.
Access permit will be issued immediately after receiving all documents, as specified in Working Hours.
The documents should be handed over along with the previously printed and filled form.
The access card will be ready after seven working days, and it can be withdrawn Monday through Friday, from 9h00 to 17h00.

 

CARD ISSUANCE

Print and fill the Access Request Form correctly (it will not be handled by the institution) and the Term of Responsibility. Please, bring them already filled in.

Attach the following documents:
• ID (copy)
• Proof of Residency (copy)
• Diploma or Declaration from your institution
• Two 3X4 (ID-sized) photos

 

RENEWAL

For Access Card renewal, all documents presented before are requested again.

 

ACCESS CARD MODEL

• Gray Card: for Undergraduate & Graduate students in the areas of Mathematics, Economics or Physics
• Blue Card: former Graduate students
• White Card: students from other areas (valid only for Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays)

 

WORKING HOURS

• Monday through Friday: from 9h00 to 21h00

• Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: CLOSED (on weekends there is a room available for study).

Maximum Limit of 45 external users.

On the event of maintenance services on the premises, where the access will be restrained, notices will be posted on the entrance boot and information boards, with a minimum of 5 days in advance.

 

JANUARY, FEBRUARY AND BRAZILIAN MATH COLLOQUIUM

Access from other areas (White Card) will not be allowed.

 

STANDARD RULES

• Turn off all sound devices inside the Study Room;
• Do not occupy tables and chairs with objects that prevent others from using them;
• Do not eat and/or drink inside the Study Room;
• Keep total silence inside the Study Room and its surroundings;
• Help keeping the Study Room and restrooms clean;
• Access to the computer laboratories and administrative areas on the first and second floors are not allowed. This also includes all areas of the third and fourth floors, including common areas;
• Do not leave your belongings unattended whenever you go away from IMPA. In this event, security will collect all material and hand it to the administrative sector. IMPA will not be hold responsible for any personal material left in its premises;
• When leaving IMPA, security will register the user exit and makes sure he/she observes the limits established in the WORKING HOURS item;
• Users should report any problem concerning the Study Room or any of IMPA’s facilities to the Administrative Suport Division (Room 117), Monday through Friday, from 8h00 to 18h00.

 

PENALTIES

Non-compliance of any of the rules displayed above may result in immediate (without previous warning) loss of access as agreed in the Term of Responsibility, undersigned by the user at the registration.
