Temas da Matemática Contemporânea
É uma iniciativa do IMPA destinada a expor a comunidade matemática nacional a desenvolvimentos recentes em linhas de pesquisa relacionadas àquelas existentes no Brasil. O formato consiste em palestras realizadas por pesquisadores convidados concentradas em um curto período, não ultrapassando uma semana. Elas permitirão à audiência adquirir uma visão sólida e coloca-lá a par de técnicas relevantes ao tema.
O IMPA, com apoio da CAPES, fornecerá apoio financeiro aos participantes interessados.

Resumo
The aim of this series of lectures is to give an account of some modern approaches to study the Kobayashi hyperbolicity of complex algebraic varieties.First, we shall discuss classical definitions, constructions and examples of the theory in order to give the right setting to develop further.Then, we will introduce the modern concepts of Ahlfors-Schwarz-type lemmas, of spaces of jets of germs of holomorphic curves and their differentials. The lectures will go then into very recent results about hyperbolicity of generic projective hypersurfaces of high degree.We shall give an overview of the strategy of the proof of these results, following and giving some precisions to a strategy initiated more than three decades ago by Green and Griffiths and then developed by several authors like Demailly, Mc Quillan, Siu…
The lectures intend to be as self-contained as possible, nevertheless they are conceived for a public whose knowledge should include at least basic several complex variables and basic complex geometry.
