IMPA abre duas vagas para pesquisadores

O IMPA está com duas vagas abertas para novos pesquisadores das áreas de matemática pura ou aplicada e de matemática aplicada e industrial. As inscrições para o concurso vão até o dia 19/11/2021. O resultado final será divulgado em dezembro, e os aprovados iniciarão as atividades no IMPA entre janeiro e setembro de 2022. 

IMPA is selecting candidates for two tenure track positions in Mathematics and Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The deadline for the applications is November 19th, 2021. The results will be announced in December, 2021, and the selected applicant should start activities at IMPA at some point between January and September 2022.

Tenure-Track Position in Mathematics

A primeira vaga para pesquisador está aberta para todas as áreas da matemática, tanto pura quanto aplicada. A posição será inicialmente em caráter experimental, com avaliação e passagem para pesquisador permanente nos quatro primeiros anos. O salário mensal vai variar entre R$ 21.690,88 e R$ 29.706,85.

The position is open to all fields of Mathematics, both Pure and Applied. Tenure will be considered during the first four years. The monthly salary will be between R$ 21.690,88 and R$ 29.706,85.

Os candidatos devem enviar os seguintes documentos:

Plano de pesquisa;

Lista de publicações;

Curriculum vitae;

Nomes e e-mails de três matemáticos de renome que tenham familiaridade com o trabalho do candidato. Esses matemáticos receberão uma mensagem de e-mail contendo as informações do candidato e as instruções sobre como submeter a sua carta de recomendação.

Names and contact emails of three renowned mathematicians that are familiar with the applicant’s work. These reference writers will receive an email message containing information on the candidate and instructions on how to submit a recommendation letter.

Tenure-Track Position in Industrial and Applied Mathematics

A segunda vaga está destinada a um pesquisador para a área de matemática aplicada e industrial. Os candidatos devem apresentar histórico de pesquisa em matemática aplicada ou áreas correlatas como ciências dos dados, pesquisa operacional e estatística, além de potencial para colaboração com a indústria.

This position is intended for candidates with a strong research record in Applied Mathematics, including, but not restricted to, Data Science, Operations Research, and Statistics. Applications exhibiting the potential to establish collaborations with the industry, broadly understood, are especially welcome. 

A posição será também inicialmente em caráter experimental, com avaliação e passagem para o pesquisador permanente nos quatro primeiros anos. O salário mensal vai variar entre R$ 21.690,88 e R$ 29.706,85.

Tenure will be considered during the first four years. The monthly salary will be between R$ 21.690,88 and R$ 29.706,85.

Plano de trabalho;

Esses recomendantes receberão uma mensagem de e-mail contendo as informações do candidato e as instruções sobre como submeter sua carta de recomendação.
