IMPA has established a tradition of publishing in the field of mathematics, as shown by the many books and monographs it has published since it was founded. These publications are aimed at the various teaching and research sectors and are intended to create a high-level national literature in mathematics.

The Notas de Matemática, Coleção Monografias de Matemática, Coleção Colóquios Brasileiros de Matemática and the Coleção Publicações Matemáticas publish papers that can be the result of research, courses, seminars or scientific meetings sponsored by IMPA.
