Every year, a significant number of post-doctoral fellows do internships at IMPA for periods of 6 months to 1 year. Sometimes their scholarships are renewed for periods of up to 2 years.

Post-doctoral students have increasingly taken advantage of this period, dedicated to their research work and to seminars and conferences, as well as to the joint development of research with members of IMPA’s scientific staff or with visitors from other centers.

The normal procedure for a post-doctorate at IMPA begins with a contact with the researcher (s) in the area closest to the candidate’s area. Once the common interest has been confirmed, the candidate should send their CV and a joint research plan to dac@impa.br.

The Scientific Activities Committee (CAC) will evaluate the request and contact the candidate to formally make the post-doctorate possible.
