Since then, IMPA’s academic postgraduate program has always earned top marks in the evaluation of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).

IMPA’s Summer Program takes place annually in January and February and offers courses at the Scientific Initiation, Master’s and Doctoral levels that are open to all interested parties, including non-regular students at the institution.
In addition to the above programs, the institute also offers continuing education programs for mathematics teachers:
- Olympic Teacher Training Program – PROLIMPIC
- Improvement Program for High School Mathematics Teachers – PAPMEM
*IMPA is not currently offering new classes for PROFMAT and the Professional Master’s in Finance.
