With over 14,000 visitors, the Festival is highlighted in the press.

The second edition of the National Mathematics Festival brought together more than 14,000 participants , between Thursday (29) and Saturday (1st), at Marina da Glória, in Rio de Janeiro, and was highlighted in several media outlets, such as Band, TV Brasil and Agência Brasil.
On Band TV's "Jornal da Noite," reporter Mariana Procópio showed the audience gathered at the workshops, spoke with students, and emphasized how playful activities are also important in learning.
The director-general of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, was interviewed for the report. “The weight and importance of mathematics is only growing. In the present, mathematics is already necessary; in the future, it will be absolutely indispensable,” stated Viana. The report about the Festival also aired on the same channel's “Jornal do Rio.”
One of the reports broadcast by TV Brasil showed live footage of the first day of the event at Marina da Glória. Reporter Priscila Thereso showed students having fun in chess workshops with giant pieces and also explained how the bicycles with "square wheels" worked.
"Mathematics explains that the curvature of the floor fits into the vertices of the square, allowing the bicycle to move. The event features various workshops that demonstrate how learning can be fun and how important this science is in our daily lives. The goal of the Festival is to popularize this science," Priscila explained on the first day of the event.
On Saturday (30), Agência Brasil published an article about the festival and addressed the “IMPA Olympic Girls” program. Letícia Rangel, coordinator of the project, highlighted in the report the importance of the initiative and recalled that girls who wish to pursue STEM fields “need to overcome stereotypes so that they can make their choices”.
