There is one month left until the end of registrations for IMPA Tech, the first undergraduate program of IMPA, located in Porto Maravalley, a technology hub promoted by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, in the city's port area. Registrations for the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation close at 5 pm on December 27th and can be done free of charge on the website impatech.impa.br . Up to one hundred places will be offered to students from all over Brazil. Access the announcement here. With an interdisciplinary and innovative curriculum, the undergraduate program lasts four years and is in-person, full-time. In the first year of the bachelor's degree, students dedicate themselves to a basic cycle and, subsequently, choose between four emphases: Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, and Physics . With the aim of bringing together the best students from different states, IMPA Tech offers student accommodation, provided by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, and financial support. Furthermore, those who pass the final stage of the selection process will have their airfare to the start of the academic year in Rio de Janeiro covered by the institute. The IMPA Tech selection process takes into account students' performance in five knowledge olympiads or their ENEM (National High School Exam) math score. According to the announcement, 80% of the places are reserved for medalists from OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools) – level 3 / national award; OBM (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad) – level 3; OBFEP (Brazilian Physics Olympiad for Public Schools) – levels B and/or C National; OBQ (Brazilian Chemistry Olympiad) – modalities A and/or B; and OBI (Brazilian Informatics Olympiad) – programming modality / levels 1 and/or 2, only High School. The remaining 20% are reserved for students from ENEM. Candidates must choose one registration method. The selection process, conducted in two stages, will also include group activities and individual (online) interviews. As detailed in the announcement, the undergraduate program will have places for general competition and will also reserve a number of places for candidates distributed in different quota groups. IMPA Tech aims to empower students to effectively enter the technology and innovation market, working in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, information security, etc. Another distinguishing feature of the undergraduate program is its strategic location.
