The Secretary of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education visits IMPA.

Last Thursday (27), IMPA received a visit from the Secretary of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education (MEC), Wagner Vilas Boas de Souza, accompanied by the Director of Policies and Programs for Higher Education, Edimilson Costa Silva. They were received by IMPA's Director-General, Marcelo Viana, researcher Paulo Orenstein, the coordinator of the Pi Center (IMPA Center for Projects and Innovation), Jorge Lopes, and post-doc Lucas Nissenbaum.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education (MEC) visited the institute to discuss a technical partnership between the Secretariat of Higher Education (SESU) and IMPA. The secretariat is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the formulation and implementation of national higher education policy, as well as creating programs aimed at expanding access to and retention of students in higher education.

During the meeting, Wagner Vilas Boas de Souza and Edimilson Costa Silva toured the classrooms, research laboratories, and other facilities of IMPA. They also visited the construction site of the new sustainable campus in Horto.
