The institute has two open positions for researchers.

IMPA has two open research positions in the areas of applied and industrial mathematics and mathematics. Applications are open until November 1, 2022, and the final results will be announced in December of the same year. Selected candidates will begin their activities at IMPA between January and September 2023.
Mathematics
One of the positions is open to all areas of mathematics, both pure and applied. The position will initially be on a probationary basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent researcher position being considered during the first four years. The monthly salary ranges from R $ 23,426.15 to R$ 32,083.40.

To apply for the position, candidates must submit the following documents: research plan, list of publications, and curriculum vitae. They must also provide the names and email addresses of three renowned mathematicians familiar with the candidate's work. These mathematicians will receive an email with the candidate's information and instructions on how to submit their letter of recommendation.

Applied and Industrial Mathematics
The other position is focused on the area of applied and industrial mathematics. Candidates should have a research background in applied mathematics or related areas such as data science and statistics, computer graphics, fluid dynamics, mathematical economics, optimization, and operations research. Applications demonstrating potential for collaboration with industry, in the broadest sense, are welcome.
The position will initially be on a probationary basis, with the transition to a permanent researcher being considered during the first four years. The monthly salary ranges from R $ 23,426.15 to R$ 32,083.40.
