The Future Scientists Program offers a course for female students.
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through the Center for Strategic Technologies of the Northeast (Cetene), has opened registrations for the Future Scientists Program – Study Group for the ENEM (National High School Exam). Registration is free and runs until June 30th.
The project offers a two-month preparatory course in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Portuguese for female students in their final year of high school at state public schools and for women who have already completed their final year of schooling in the state education system. There is no age limit.

In addition to classes, the program offers a scholarship of R$ 322 for participants, study materials, and a certificate. One hundred places will be available, and women from all 26 states of Brazil and the Federal District are eligible to participate.
The program's objective is to reduce obstacles for students entering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses. The final results of the approved applications will be released on July 26th.
Classes will take place between September 1st and October 29th, 2023, via YouTube. Videos will be made available on weekdays through a restricted link for program participants. On pre-established dates, students will be able to participate in mock exams and review sessions to solve problems related to the subjects.
The Cetene/MCTI Future Scientists Program has already held four editions of Study Panels. The initiative has already been recognized in the awards of the 1st LED Movement – Light in Education Call for Proposals, promoted by Rede Globo with the support of the Roberto Marinho Foundation, in 2022.
Scientific Immersion Project
The Future Scientists program is also accepting applications for the Scientific Immersion Projects call for proposals to be carried out in 2024. Applications close this Monday (12).
The initiative aims to contribute to the inclusion of female students and teachers from the public education system in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In this edition, 470 places are offered, distributed as follows: 160 for students from regular schools, 160 for students from full-time schools, and 150 places for teachers.
Professors and researchers from universities and research institutions throughout the country can submit projects. Registration is free and can be done via a form available on the Cetene website .
At least ten project proposals from the North, South, Central-West, Southeast, and Northeast regions will be selected. The final selection results will be announced on July 3rd. The activities will take place between January 4th and 31st, 2024.
