Award Rules Include Submission Templates

To assist candidates in applying for the Brazil Award for Mathematics Education in Basic Education, the award rules have been expanded to include Annexes I and II, which provide the templates for submitting proposals. Organized by IMPA (Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics) and ANPMat (National Association of Mathematics Teachers in Basic Education), the initiative is accepting applications through October 12, at this link.

The templates were designed to guide participants in presenting the teaching practices that will be evaluated for the award. The rules stipulate that submissions must demonstrate, in detail, successful practices developed within the context of Brazilian Basic Education.

Annex I provides the template for the “Faculty” category, while Annex II is intended for the “Institutions” category. Both documents outline the key points that must be included in the proposals, making it easier for participants to prepare their materials.

In the Faculty category, the template includes fields for identifying the practice, objectives, assessment indicators and strategies, results obtained, potential for dissemination, replicability and continuity, a description of the experience, and references. The description must also include the theoretical rationale, the teacher’s pedagogical leadership, and aspects related to methodological innovation, inclusion, equity, and the use of technology.

For institutions, the model follows a similar structure and calls for the presentation of the project, including its theoretical foundation, systemic scope, and alignment with the “Toda Matemática” National Commitment. Check it out at this link.

Registration is open through October 12

Applications are being accepted through October 12, 2026. Proposals will be evaluated by November 1, and the results are expected to be announced on November 4.
