SBM and IMPA launch call for entries for Mathematics competitions.

The National Mathematics Olympiad Committee of the SBM (Brazilian Mathematical Society), in partnership with IMPA, launches, this Wednesday (22), a Public Call for the realization of Regional Mathematics Competitions 2019. The objective is to increase the participation of young students and improve their training for mathematical competitions in Brazilian schools. Approved projects will be entitled to places in the 41st Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad (OBM).

Submission of proposals

Those interested should fill out the electronic proposal submission form with their personal information, a project description, the names of the professors involved, and present an expense plan.

This Tuesday, 18.1 million students will take the OBMEP exam.

Preference will be given to applicants already associated with established regional mathematics competitions, regional coordinators of the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad (OBM), and coordinators of the Intensive Training Olympic Centers (POTI). The granting of aid will be subject to the availability of budgetary resources.

Projects must be submitted by June 12th. The selection results are expected to be announced on June 17th.
