Representatives from MCTI and Finep visit IMPA.

IMPA received, this Monday (21), a visit from the undersecretary of the linked units of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Alex Magalhães; from the advisor of the Financial, Credit and Fundraising Directorate of Finep (Financing Agency for Studies and Projects), Guilherme Henrique I de Azevedo; from the director of the National Institute of Technology (INT), Iêda Caminha; and from the researcher of the Mineral Technology Center (CETEM) Ysrael Marrero. They were received by the general director of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, by the researchers André Nachbin and Jorge Vitório Pereira, and by the technologist Roberto Beauclair.

“The visit is part of an initiative by the sub-secretariat of the MCTI's affiliated units, which aims to better understand the research institutes and contribute to greater interaction between them,” commented Viana. The director-general of IMPA gave a brief presentation about IMPA, its missions and values, scope of action, and initiatives in basic education such as OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools).

The group also visited classrooms, the library, and the reading room, in addition to touring the Pi Center (IMPA's Center for Projects and Innovation) and other institute facilities.
