Representatives from IMPA visit Ilum and CNPEM in Campinas.

The Director-General of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, and members of the academic and administrative team of IMPA Tech visited, this Monday (27), the Ilum School of Science and the CNPEM (National Center for Research in Energy and Materials), in Campinas (SP). The group was received by the Director-General of CNPEM, José Roque, and by the Director of Ilum, Adalberto Fazzio.

Ilum School of Science is an undergraduate program in Science and Technology, linked to CNPEM. Like IMPA Tech, the institution offers interdisciplinary education. The meeting served as a way to exchange experiences between the administrative and academic teams of the two undergraduate programs, who are planning joint projects for the future.

“Ilum is one of IMPA Tech’s main sources of inspiration. Through this visit, we aim to deepen fruitful cooperation and establish a student exchange protocol between the two schools,” said Viana.

In addition to the Director-General of IMPA, those participating in the meeting included Francisco Silva, Administrative Manager of IMPA Tech, Adriano Basilo and Kátia Coutinho, respectively Academic Manager and Teaching Coordinator of the institute's undergraduate program.

The group visited the Ilum facilities and the CNPEM laboratories, which are a benchmark for research in health, renewable energy, agro-environmental sciences, renewable materials, and quantum technologies. In addition, they visited Sirius, one of the most modern electron accelerators in the world, located within the research center.
