Registration is open for the 11th edition of the Prolímpico.
Registration for the 11th edition of Prolímpico (Olympic Teacher Improvement Program) begins this Wednesday (9). The program, aimed at mathematics teachers and school administrators, covers content related to mathematics olympiads and is divided into two independent modules covering elementary and secondary education. Classes will be offered between August 4 and 8. To participate, you must register by July 31 on the IMPA website. Click here.
The Prolímpico program aims to promote Olympic culture throughout the country, offering training and practical proposals for classroom application. The 11th edition will be entirely remote, with classes broadcast on IMPA's YouTube channel and the Google Classroom platform.
Two participation options are available, to be chosen at the time of registration. In both options, the participant must attend classes and complete the electronic evaluation form. The difference between the options lies in the performance on the form: everyone who completes it receives a certificate of participation, but only those who achieve a good score on the answers guarantee a certificate of participation with performance evaluation.
The available levels are: Level A, which covers Elementary School (grades 3-5), Level 1 (grades 6 and 7), Level 2 (grades 8 and 9), and Level 3 (High School). The instructors for each level will be, respectively, Sara Santana, Carlos Rocha, Onofre Campos, and Carlos Gustavo Moreira. Registered teachers can register for one or more levels and will subsequently receive an invitation to participate in activities via the Google Classroom platform.
More information will soon be available on the Prolímpico page on the IMPA website.
Coordinated by professors Krerley Oliveira and Samuel Barbosa, Prolímpico is an IMPA initiative focused on enhancing teacher training in the field of mathematics. Each edition of the program brings together thousands of educators from all regions of the country, strengthening a teaching network committed to stimulating logical reasoning, creative thinking, and preparing students for scientific olympiads.
