Registration for the Brazilian School of Probability is open until April 15th.

Registration is now open for the 25th edition of the Brazilian School of Probability (EBP) , which will take place in August and will be held for the first time at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing of Unicamp, in Campinas, São Paulo. The EBP is considered a traditional international meeting on probability theory and stochastic processes, making significant contributions to strengthening the research area in Brazil and South America. Registration is open until April 15th on the event website .

This year, the event will be held during the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Singular Stochastic Partial Differential Equations and Their Applications , between August 2nd and 13th, and will address stochastic partial differential equations. Presentations will be given in English and include plenary lectures with renowned researchers from around the world, as well as two introductory courses and two advanced courses.

“Currently, the Brazilian School of Probability has considerable international prestige, with the participation of internationally renowned researchers. This year, we have the privilege of welcoming the 2014 Fields Medal winner and professor at Imperial College London, Martin Hairer, and Professor Lorenzo Zambotti from Sorbonne University. Our idea is always to hold it in conjunction with another important event in the field, as is the case this year,” explained IMPA researcher Milton Jara , one of the event organizers.

The introductory courses will be held in the first week of the event. Professor Paulo Ruffino, from UNICAMP, will teach stochastic calculus, and Professor Sebastian Riedel, from Leibniz University Hannover, will teach the course on rough paths. In the advanced module, Professor Lorenzo Zambotti from Sorbonne University will discuss regularity structures, and Martin Hairer will address progress on the Yang-Mills problem, known as one of the seven Millennium Problems.

The program also includes lectures with researchers such as Claudio Landim, deputy director of IMPA, Maria Eulalia Vares, from UFRJ, Sandra Cerrai, from the University of Maryland, and Ajay Chandra and Xue-Mei Li, from Imperial College London. The complete program is available on the website .

The registration fee is R $ 150 for graduate students and R $ 300 for professors and researchers. Funding from FAPESP will be granted to 50 Brazilian graduate students, guaranteeing fee waivers and a stipend for travel and accommodation. Interested students must also register on the website and include a letter of recommendation.

In addition to Milton Jara, the 25th edition of the EBP has Dirk Erhard (UFBA), Adriana Neumann (UFRGS), and Christian Olivera (Unicamp) as members of the scientific committee. The event has been held annually since 1997 with the support of IMPA, ICMC-USP, IME-USP, IM-UFRJ, IMECC-UNICAMP, UFMG, UFPE, and PUC-RIO, as well as several scientific societies and research agencies.
