Registration for the 12th Olympiad runs until January 29th
Registration for the 12th edition of Prolímpico (Olympic Teacher Training Program) is open until January 29. The IMPA initiative is aimed at continuing training for math teachers and school administrators from all over Brazil and will be held virtually between February 2 and 6, broadcast on IMPA’s YouTube channel. Sign up on the website.
Prolímpico aims to spread the so-called Olympic culture, covering content related to the math Olympics and offering practical proposals for application in the classroom. The program is divided into independent levels, covering elementary to high school, allowing participants to sign up for one or more levels, depending on their interest.
The programme includes mini-courses organized by level, from elementary to high school, on topics such as numbers and elementary operations, digits and divisibility, Olympic geometry – including the Ceva and Menelaus theorems – and sequences. The activities will be led by guest teachers and structured to offer theoretical and practical support for classroom application and preparation for math Olympiads. Check out the full program here.
At the time of applying, participants can choose between two types of participation, which define the criteria for obtaining the certificate. For both, it is necessary to attend the classes and take the mini-course assessment, available from 9am on February 6 until 9am on February 7. Only participants who meet the criteria for the chosen modality will receive the certificate.
Applications must be made through the IMPA’s institutional system until January 29th.
