Registration is open for the Advanced Science School and the 24th EBP.

The tests will be held on May 26 (1st phase) and September 26 (2nd phase), and distributed according to the student's grade level: level 1 (6th and 7th grades), level 2 (8th and 9th grades), and level 3 (any year of high school).

Those who have passed to the second stage will be announced on July 9th, and the winners will be announced on December 8th. Those awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals will be guaranteed entry into scientific initiation programs.

All medalists will be invited to participate in the Junior Scientific Initiation Program (PIC Jr.) as an incentive and to promote academic development. Award-winning students from public schools receive a Junior Scientific Initiation scholarship from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), worth R $ 100 per month. Medalists from private schools may participate in PIC Jr. as auditors. If the medalist is to begin an undergraduate course in the first semester of 2021, they may participate in the selection process for PICME. Selected candidates will receive a CNPq Scientific Initiation scholarship of R$ 400.

Created by IMPA in 2005 and held with the support of the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM), the competition is promoted with resources from the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC) and the Ministry of Education (MEC). OBMEP contributes to stimulating the study of Mathematics in Brazil, identifying talented young people and promoting social inclusion through the dissemination of knowledge.
