Registration for IMPA Open House is open until June 30th.

Demystifying mathematics and bringing it closer to society. This is the goal of IMPA Open Doors , which will have a new edition on August 20th. Aimed at students from public or private institutions, teachers, and visitors in general, the initiative is open for registration until June 30th at this link . Admission is free and the number of places is limited.

“Our goal is to share with society, particularly with younger generations, the daily life of a research institution like IMPA, and to present our initiatives in favor of popularizing mathematics,” emphasizes the Director-General of IMPA, Marcelo Viana.

This is the second time this year that the institute has opened its doors to visitors. In May, more than 150 people gathered at the institute for a day of workshops, lectures, and games.

This edition's program will feature the lecture "The Mathematics Behind Computer Graphics" by IMPA researcher Tiago Novello. The IMPA Girls' Olympics (MOI) project will conduct workshops with participants. A 3D exhibition, videos, quizzes, and other activities are also part of the agenda. Check it out here !

IMPA's Open Doors program accepts registrations for up to 40 people per institution, with a minimum of two registrations from professors or class leaders. The program is divided into two sessions: morning, from 9 am to 12 pm, and afternoon, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Entry is only permitted upon registration. Questions can be sent to cdm@impa.br.
