PROFMAT 2025 is now open for registration.

Applications for the National Entrance Exam (ENA) for PROFMAT 2025 (Professional Master's Degree in Mathematics in a National Network) are open until 5 PM on September 30th. The program is the gateway to an excellent professional master's degree, aimed at Basic Education teachers who wish to excel in the field.

This year, the call for applications includes new features: teachers on probation or with temporary contracts are eligible for CAPES scholarships. Up to 30% of those approved (480 places) may receive this benefit. Furthermore, vacancies not filled by teachers from the public basic education system may be filled by teachers from other systems. Coordinated by the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM) , the program is free, blended learning, and validated by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The initiative aims to provide in-depth mathematical training relevant to teaching in Basic Education, providing participants with the skills and competencies necessary for their work as mathematics teachers.

In this edition, 1,600 places will be offered, distributed across 82 higher education institutions located in different regions of the country. To register, simply access the official PROFMAT page, fill out the electronic form with personal and professional data, and pay a registration fee of R$ 82. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree recognized by the MEC (Brazilian Ministry of Education).

The exam will be held on October 19th, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at a location to be announced by each of the Higher Education institutions. The assessment consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. According to the announcement, the answer key will be released by October 21st, and the scores will be released by October 28th.

If the shortlisted candidates do not fill all the available positions, a reclassification will be carried out, giving priority to teachers from public basic education networks. More information and the schedule are available in the PROFMAT notice .
