Playful activities are allies in teaching mathematics.

Experts on the morning program Bem Estar, on TV Globo, say that games can be great allies in making mathematics more appealing to children, helping to spark interest and enjoyment in the subject.

The fun formula was the solution explored at the Mathematics Festival, and the report shows one of the activities exhibited at the event, which uses magic to teach mathematics, this time applied to classrooms in the city of São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo.

"Games make children's eyes light up, and this is an open window to later develop the learning of traditional mathematical content from school," defines Pedro Malagutti, professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFCar) and speaker at the Festival.
