OBMEP portal now offers Portuguese video lessons

New on the OBMEP Portal! Portuguese language video lessons for high school students are now available. The initiative broadens the scope of the platform, which is known for its Mathematics and Physics content, and now offers even more complete support for students’ education.

Developed by IMPA, the OBMEP Portal brings together free teaching materials, with video lessons, exercises and content organized by grade level. With the inclusion of Portuguese, the platform also seeks to contribute to the development of fundamental reading, text interpretation and writing skills – essential competences for academic performance and for exams such as Enem (National High School Exam).

The new lessons cover central themes of the high school curriculum, such as linguistic variation, word class and other content. The aim is to complement classroom learning and offer a quality resource for students across the country, especially those with less access to educational materials.

Created in 2005, OBMEP is Brazil’s largest scientific Olympiad and aims to stimulate the study of mathematics and identify talent throughout the country. With the strengthening of its educational portal, the initiative is expanding its impact and reinforcing its commitment to the democratization of education.
