OBMEP awards ceremony is highlighted in the press.

The biggest national award ceremony of the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools (OBMEP) was highlighted in several media outlets throughout this month. O Globo , Agência Brasil , O Dia , Rádio CBN, Rádio Tupi , Rádio Globo, and Roquette Pinto reported on the unprecedented ceremony that will bring together gold medalists from the 16th and 17th editions of the Olympiad in Florianópolis (SC), on June 5th.

In an article published last Tuesday (30), O Globo reported that the meeting will bring together 1089 students from all over Brazil in an unprecedented ceremony. "This year the national awards ceremony will have a very special flavor, as we are bringing together medalists from two different editions. There will be more than a thousand gold medalists, coming from all corners of Brazil," said Marcelo Viana, director-general of IMPA.

At Agência Brasil, a gold medalist from Campos Novos (SC) shared her excitement at receiving the medal at the ceremony. Isabela Besen, 14, was the first student in her city to win the highest award at the OBMEP. "Several classmates came to me for advice on how to pass the exam," the young woman revealed.
