Mathematics Festival opens registration for school visits.

Festival Nacional da Matemática 2022

The 3rd National Mathematics Festival (FestMat) is now open for registration for school visits. This year, public and private schools can participate in the program on September 5th and 6th, between 9 am and 7 pm, at Marina da Glória, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. Saturday (7) will be exclusively for participation by the general public.

Organized by IMPA, FestMat is a free event that presents mathematics in a fun way, connected to technology and the transformations of our world.

To ensure the school's participation, principals or teachers must access thewebsite and complete the registration form. To guarantee the visit, it will be necessary to select the school category (public or private); enter the INEP code or CNPJ of the institution; provide the unit's registration data; identify the person responsible for accompanying the students; and choose the date and time of the visit. Schools confirmed for the event will receive an access QR Code with the number of registered students.

It's important to remember that each school can bring up to 46 students per visit, and it's possible to request up to two visits. In total, the educational institution can bring up to 92 students. The request must be made using the single form, which registers the school's data and can only be submitted once.

Transportation for the group is the responsibility of the educational institution itself. FestMat will soon open registration to the general public.

Festival Schedule

Entering its third edition, FestMat is an event that has already become a fixture on the city's calendar. The first two editions of the National Mathematics Festival (2017 and 2022) brought together more than 32,000 people.

This year, the Festival's theme is "Mathematics is innovation!" . The full program will be released soon, but visitors can expect new workshops, exhibitions, lectures, and panel discussions. It will be three days of immersion in mathematics and lots of fun for the whole family.
