In the British Academy, the Mathematics Club welcomes Viana.

Co-founder of Youcubed, a Stanford center that provides math education resources for teachers, students, and parents, the researcher has written eight books—some of which have been released in Brazil—with the goal of improving math education in the U.S. and the UK.

The seminar also featured Jack Dieckmann, professor and director of the Youcubed Center for Studies at Stanford University. Jo Boaler participated via videoconference. At the event, the professor's most recent book, "Mathematical Mindsets in the Classroom," was launched in Brazil.

“The seminar was built around the ideas of Professor Jo Boaler from Stanford University, who has been proposing a comprehensive and innovative approach to teaching mathematics, incorporating the latest advances in science. We have much to gain from understanding this approach,” said Viana.
