With a master's and doctorate from IMPA, mathematician Luciano Irineu de Castro is back at the institute, now as a researcher. In his presentation seminar, this Wednesday (22), the mathematician discussed the topic “Dynamic quantile models of rational behaviour”. The lecture can be watched here.
“It’s a pleasure to return to IMPA after 14 years. Being here as a senior researcher is a great honor,” said Castro, who dedicates himself to the area of Mathematical Economics. The mathematician works mainly on the topics of Fixed Point Theorem, affiliation, Nash Equilibrium, equilibrium in pure strategies, and auctions.

In the Ricardo Mañé auditorium, the researcher introduced the dynamic program problem for intertemporal decision making, in which the economic agent maximizes the flow of future utilities of the t-quantile, subject to standard constraints.

Preceded by Khadim War's seminar , Castro's lecture continues the cycle of inaugural presentations of new researchers conceived by the IMPA's management. Besides welcoming them, the objective is to allow the scientific community to become familiar with the work developed by the institute's newest member.
After the presentation, a reception was held to honor the new researchers. "I am very happy and feel very welcome," said War.
