Jornal Hoje: Lives transformed by OBMEP

The Jornal Hoje news program tells the story of gold medalists from the 2016 OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad for Public Schools), such as Caio, from Palmas (TO); Michel, from Junco do Seridó (PB); and Leandro, from Quixaba (PE), beneficiaries of government social programs. Their inspiring journey shows that mathematics can take them further. The three are among the approximately 500 students who came to Rio this week for the awards ceremony of the largest student olympiad in the country, organized by IMPA (National Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics).
