INCTMat opens call for support for scientific events.

The National Institute of Science and Technology of Mathematics (INCTMat) launched, this Monday (29), a public call for support for face-to-face scientific events , held in Brazil, between January and June 2024. The initiative will grant financial aid of R$ 20 thousand per event for use exclusively for payment of daily allowances to participants.

To apply, it is essential to send the documentation described in the call for proposals to the email address inctmat@impa.br and submit the online form by June 30th of this year. See the call for proposals here.

The proposals will be analyzed by the INCTMat Management Committee and the results will be announced by September 29, 2023.

The initiative aims to promote and disseminate mathematics and its applications and is offered by INCTMat with funding from CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and Faperj (Carlos Chagas Filho Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio de Janeiro).

The selection process will prioritize events that adequately reflect the gender and regional diversity of the mathematical community in the Scientific Committee, Organizing Committee, and list of speakers.

The criteria evaluated will be: events held in Brazil during the first semester of 2024; scientific and academic quality; scientific relevance of the event in relation to the local context; impact of the project on local and regional development; reliability of the estimated budget; financial commitment of local institutions; and commitment to diversity in the mathematical community.
