INCTMat announces support of up to R$ 20,000 for scientific events.

The National Institute of Science and Technology of Mathematics (INCTMat) has opened a public call for proposals to support in-person scientific events held in Brazil. With funding of up to R$ 20,000, the institute aims to promote and disseminate mathematics and its applications. Applications must be submitted by January 13, 2023.

Institutions or universities that have scheduled events between July and December 2023 may apply for support. To apply, simply send the required documentation as outlined in the call for proposals to the email address inctmat@impa.br and complete the online form.

Why isn't there a Nobel Prize in mathematics?

The selection process will prioritize proposals that reflect the gender and regional diversity of the mathematical community in the Scientific Committee, Organizing Committee, and list of speakers.

Some selection criteria include scientific and academic quality; relevance of the event to the local context; impact of the project on local and regional development; reliability of the estimated budget; financial commitment from local institutions, among others.

Applications will be reviewed by the INCTMat Management Committee and the results will be announced by March 31, 2023. For more information, please visit the call for proposals page.
