IMPA wins Jatobá Award for Corporate Communication

IMPA won two categories of the Jatobá Award – Excellence and Innovation in PR, a national Corporate Communication competition, with the work "IMPA shows how mathematics is fun and transforms lives".
Corcovado Comunicação Estratégica is the company responsible for communication work at IMPA since August 2016. It handles the dissemination of information about IMPA, OBMEP, and the Mathematics Biennium in the press, and produces content for the IMPA website and social media , the Mathematics Biennium , and ICM2018 , among other responsibilities.
The winning categories were Press Relations/Media Relations and Integrated Communication (encompassing Press Relations and other services and platforms, such as websites and social networks, as well as Internal Communication), in the boutique agency segment – medium and small-sized. The award ceremony took place on Friday night (8), in São Paulo.
Among the main highlights of the case study “IMPA shows how mathematics is fun and transforms lives” are the series of reports on Mathematics on Jornal Nacional , starring the director of IMPA, Marcelo Viana; the interview of Viana and researcher Carolina Araujo on Conversa com Bial ; and the creation of Marcelo Viana's weekly column on the Folha de S.Paulo website , starting in March.
The significant media exposure achieved by IMPA, which has become a national reference in Mathematics for the press, and the number of reports published in earned media were also taken into account. The judges also evaluated the work of IMPA's social media , which reached over 8 million people, and the new website, with 1.5 million page views in seven months. The winning work was completed by Raphael Gomide, Anna Gomide, Sergio Torres, Vanessa Gonçalves, Karine Rodrigues, and Leonardo Coelho.
