IMPA Tech is accepting applications until December 27th.

The 2025 selection process for IMPA Tech, the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation at IMPA (Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics), ends at 5 PM on December 27th. Located in Porto Maravalley, a technology hub in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, the undergraduate program is free, funded by the federal government, and offers student housing, financial aid, and meals. Up to one hundred places will be offered to students from all over Brazil, with 80% reserved for medalists from knowledge olympiads and 20% for those who passed the ENEM (National High School Exam) . Access the announcement here. With an interdisciplinary and innovative curriculum, the Bachelor's degree lasts four years and is full-time, in-person. In the first year, students dedicate themselves to a basic cycle that includes theoretical and practical classes in laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment. Subsequently, they choose between four areas of emphasis: Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, and Physics . Selection process IMPA Tech allocates 80% of its places to students who have won medals in five knowledge olympiads. The remainder is reserved for students with good grades in the mathematics section of the ENEM (National High School Exam). Medals from the following are accepted: OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools) – level 3 / national award; OBM (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad) – level 3; OBFEP (Brazilian Physics Olympiad for Public Schools) – levels B and/or C National; OBQ (Brazilian Chemistry Olympiad) – modalities A and/or B; and OBI (Brazilian Informatics Olympiad) – programming modality / levels 1 and/or 2, only High School level. As detailed in the announcement , the undergraduate program will have places for general competition and will also reserve a number of places for candidates distributed in different quota groups. Those approved in the final stage of the selection process will have their airfare to the beginning of the academic year in Rio de Janeiro paid for by IMPA. Student accommodation for adults is offered through a partnership with the Rio de Janeiro city hall. Training for the technological job market IMPA Tech trains students for the technology and innovation job market. Areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, information security, data science, among others, are central to the training. Another advantage of the undergraduate program is its strategic location. Porto Maravalley, a technology hub promoted by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, houses, in addition to IMPA Tech, startups and technology companies, creating an environment of innovation and collaboration between academia and the job market. IMPA Tech is a higher education course funded by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with the city of Rio de Janeiro.
