IMPA Tech announces list of candidates qualified for the 2nd phase.
The Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) released this Tuesday (23) the list of those classified for the Mondays phase of the selection process for IMPA Tech – the institute's first undergraduate course. The selected students will participate in the stage of individual and group interviews, which will define the list of those approved for the course. Check the list here. The result will be released on February 19.
“We are fulfilling another important step in the creation of IMPA's undergraduate program, working intensely towards the grand opening of IMPA Tech on April Mondays,” highlights Marcelo Viana, the institute's director-general.
The first phase of the selection process for the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation took into account the performance of students in five knowledge olympiads: OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools), promoted by IMPA; OBM (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad); OBF (Brazilian Physics Olympiad); OBQ (Brazilian Chemistry Olympiad) and OBI (Brazilian Informatics Olympiad). The competition reserved up to 80% of the places for students who excelled in scientific competitions. Another 20% were allocated to students with the best scores on the ENEM (National High School Exam).

Result for the vacancy of IT Specialist 2
IMPA has nine events confirmed for 2024.
Based in Porto Maravalley, a technology hub developed by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall in the city's port area, the undergraduate course will be entirely free and funded by the Ministries of Education and Science, Technology and Innovation. Approval will also guarantee students student accommodation (for those over 18 years of age) and financial support.
The undergraduate program lasts four years. Initially, students will complete a basic cycle and, subsequently, can choose between specializations in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Physics. The goal is to train highly qualified young people for the job market focused on technology and innovation, working in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and others.
The course's location is also strategic. Porto Maravalley will house, in addition to IMPA Tech, startups and technology companies, creating an environment of innovation and collaboration.
