IMPA selects postdoctoral fellow for the Pi Center

The IMPA Research and Innovation Center (Centro Pi) is selecting a postdoctoral fellow in applied mathematics. Applications are open until July 14th, and the fellowship amount is R$ 5,200, which may be more than doubled through additional project funding. Activities will begin in September.

The fellowship lasts for two years and may be renewed for another year by mutual agreement between IMPA and the fellow. The position is aimed at researchers with a recent doctorate in applied mathematics or related fields, such as computer science, engineering, statistics, or operations research.

The fellow will be expected to work on collaborative projects with Brazilian industry in a broad sense, in sectors such as energy, medicine, services, environment, or logistics.

The main responsibilities of the position are to participate in solving problems brought by partners in the industry and to develop scientific research on topics related to these problems. Prior work experience in the industry is a desirable requirement.
