IMPA screens documentary 'Lugar de Mulher' this Tuesday (26)

IMPA will screen the documentary 'Lugar de Mulher – Os inexatos percursos femininos nas exatas' next Tuesday (26) , which features the participation of two IMPA researchers, Carolina Araujo and Luna Lomonaco. The screening is scheduled for 4 pm and will be open to the public. To participate, it is necessary to confirm attendance by sending an email to comunicacao@impa.br .

Before the screening, the film's directors Manuela Fantinato and Sylvio Rocha, IMPA researcher Luna Lomonaco, and engineer Cristina Pinho, one of the film's characters, will participate in a discussion about the challenges faced by women in a male-dominated field.

The film features testimonials from over ten women who have pursued careers in STEM. Mathematicians, engineers, scientists, and technology professionals from different generations discuss the challenges of being heard and respected, but also share their passion for their professions and their achievements.

The documentary aims to provoke reflection and contribute to raising societal awareness about the issue.

The work, a co-production of Clarear Entretenimento and Tocha Filmes, premiered on November 27th at the Firjan Sesi theater in downtown Rio, and Carolina and Luna were in the audience.
