IMPA has two open positions for new researchers in the areas of pure or applied mathematics and applied and industrial mathematics. Applications for the competition are open until November 19, 2021. The final results will be announced in December, and those selected will begin their activities at IMPA between January and September 2022.

The first research position is open to all areas of mathematics, both pure and applied. The position will initially be experimental, with evaluation and transition to a permanent researcher within the first four years. The monthly salary will range between R$ 21,690.88 and R$ 29,706.85.

The second position is for a researcher in the area of applied and industrial mathematics. Candidates must have a research background in applied mathematics or related fields such as data science, operations research, and statistics, as well as potential for collaboration with industry.
This position is intended for candidates with a strong research record in Applied Mathematics, including, but not restricted to, Data Science, Operations Research, and Statistics. Applications exhibiting the potential to establish collaborations with the industry, broadly understood, are especially welcome.
The position will initially be on a trial basis, with evaluation and transition to a permanent researcher within the first four years. The monthly salary will range between R$ 21,690.88 and R$ 29,706.85.
