IMPA opens three postdoctoral positions.

IMPA released this Monday (17) the call for applications for three postdoctoral fellowships in pure and applied mathematics. The position is for two years and may be renewed for another year. The scholarship amount is R$ 9,000, excluding taxes, with an additional bench fee of R $ 1,000 per month to finance academic and/or visiting trips. Applications can be submitted until November 17. To apply for the position, it is necessary to hold a doctoral degree with a thesis defended less than 10 years ago, or to have a thesis defense scheduled for August 2025, in mathematics or related fields. IMPA alumni will only be considered eligible if they defended their thesis more than 3 years before the opening of applications.

According to the announcement, the selected candidate will have the freedom to conduct their own research program and will be required to teach at least one graduate course per year. Interactions with IMPA students and researchers will be encouraged.

Applications for this position should include: a research plan; a list of publications; a curriculum vitae; and the names and email addresses of at least three renowned mathematicians familiar with the candidate's work.

The list of selected researchers will be announced in December 2024. The researchers are expected to begin their activities at IMPA between January and September 2025. Click here to submit your application.
