IMPA opens position for IT specialist1

IMPA is selecting a candidate for the position of IT Specialist 1 (016/2023). To apply for the position, it is essential to have a completed higher education degree in information technology or related fields; experience with Linux servers such as: SSH, Apache, WordPress, PHP, NFS; experience with VMware ESXi 8x; experience with MySQL database servers; experience in programming languages for task automation such as Shell Script and PHP; and an intermediate level of technical English reading comprehension. The successful candidate will be based in the Systems and Networks area of IMPA. The employment contract is a hybrid CLT contract, with a 40-hour work week, from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is R$ 6,658.48. The position offers benefits such as medical and dental assistance (partial subsidy), childcare allowance, parking, and meal and/or food vouchers.

The IMPA Prize will distribute R$ 36,000 to the winners.

The main responsibilities of the position are: supporting the network and systems team in operational activities; installing and administering Linux servers; administering virtual servers with vCenter – VMware; monitoring service deployment; creating operational procedures; inspecting and adjusting the configuration of the Zabbix and Grafana monitoring tools; monitoring and managing the backup and restore policy of computer systems; and installing and managing web pages with WordPress and PHP.

Experience in DevOps environments (Docker, Git, Ansible, and Terraform) and knowledge of production tools with regenerative AI are desirable.
