IMPA opens position for IT specialist1

IMPA is selecting a candidate for the position of IT Specialist 1 (016/2023). To apply for the position, it is essential to have a completed higher education degree in information technology or related fields; experience with Linux servers such as: SSH, Apache, WordPress, PHP, NFS; experience with VMware ESXi 8x; experience with MySQL database servers; experience in programming languages for task automation such as Shell Script and PHP; and an intermediate level of technical English reading comprehension. Applications are open until August 16th.

The successful candidate will be based in the Systems and Networks area of IMPA. The employment contract is a hybrid CLT contract, with a 40-hour work week, from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is R$ 6,658.48. The position offers benefits such as medical and dental assistance (partial subsidy), childcare allowance, parking, and meal and/or food vouchers.

The IMPA Prize will distribute R$ 36,000 to the winners.

The main responsibilities of the position are: supporting the network and systems team in operational activities; installing and administering Linux servers; administering virtual servers with vCenter – VMware; monitoring service deployment; creating operational procedures; inspecting and adjusting the configuration of the Zabbix and Grafana monitoring tools; monitoring and managing the backup and restore policy of computer systems; and installing and managing web pages with WordPress and PHP.

Experience in DevOps environments (Docker, Git, Ansible, and Terraform) and knowledge of production tools with regenerative AI are desirable.
