IMPA is opening positions for IT Specialist Levels 1 and 3.
IMPA has opened a selection process to hire two professionals for the positions of IT Specialist 1 and IT Specialist 3. Applications for the vacancies are open until June 20th and July 8th, respectively. Check the prerequisites below.
IT Specialist 1 – applications until June 20th
To be eligible for this position, a degree in information technology or related field is essential; experience in IT support in a business environment; basic knowledge of English (A2) for verbal and written communication with users; experience in maintaining desktops and laptops; experience in installing, configuring, and supporting the Windows operating system; experience in installing, configuring, and supporting the Linux operating system; among other requirements.

The hired individual will be assigned to the User Support area. The employment contract is CLT (Brazilian labor law), in-person, with a 40-hour work week, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is R$ 4,801.42, plus meal and/or food allowance, medical and dental assistance (partial subsidy), childcare assistance, and parking.
The main responsibilities of the position are: providing level 1 support to all IMPA users (employees, researchers, and students); receiving, registering, and acting on incident reports and service requests using the FreshService ITSM system; providing support to users in person, remotely (TeamViewer), by phone, and via chat; diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems; installing and configuring Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems; creating OS images to automate installations; maintaining control of the institution's IT assets; among other responsibilities.

IT Specialist 3 – applications until July 8th
To be eligible for this position, you must have a completed higher education degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields; intermediate or advanced level of reading/writing in technical English; solid experience working with network administration and configuration; experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Aerohive/Extreme, Dell, and HP equipment; experience with cloud environments (Oracle, Google, AWS); knowledge of Cisco's Spine-Leafs architecture for data centers, experience with the SNMP protocol and with Zabbix and Grafana tools; experience with Linux environments; and programming languages for task automation such as Shell Script and Python.
The successful candidate will be based in the Networks area. The employment contract is CLT (Brazilian labor law), in-person, with a 40-hour work week, from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. The salary is R$ 11,957.47 plus meal and/or food allowance, medical and dental assistance (partial subsidy), childcare allowance, and parking.
The main responsibilities of the position are: configuring and managing Cisco Switches and Routers; configuring and managing Paloalto Firewalls; configuring and managing Aerohive/Extreme wireless networks; configuring network protocols such as IPSEC, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, VTP, HSRP, STP, HRSP, VRRP, and BGP; installing network devices and managing high availability mechanisms; installing and managing security and quality of service mechanisms; monitoring network performance and capacity; identifying hardware problems; configuring Fanvil 1XSG phones; integrating with Linux network services such as DHCP, OpenLDAP, DNS, Radius, SAMBA, FTP, and SSH; and handling network and telephony support requests.
