IMPA is hiring an administrative analyst.

IMPA has opened applications for the position of Administrative Analyst 1. To be eligible, candidates must have a completed Bachelor's degree in Administration or related fields and be fluent in English (spoken and written) for assisting foreigners. Applications are open until November 20th.

The successful candidate will be based at IMPA headquarters (Estrada Dona Castorina, 110, Jardim Botânico, South Zone of Rio de Janeiro). The employment contract is under the CLT (Brazilian labor law), with a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm. The salary is R$ 4,886.32, plus benefits. These include a career plan, childcare assistance, parking, meal and/or food vouchers, medical assistance, and partial subsidy for dental care.

A postgraduate degree in Administration or related fields is desirable; strong planning and organizational skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team. Commitment, punctuality, proactivity, and good communication are also factors that will be considered. Responsibilities include assisting the area manager and coordinator; providing in-person, telephone, and email support to researchers and visitors; managing payments; preparing project development reports; writing in Portuguese and English; drafting calls for proposals for scientific activities; among others.

There will be a pre-selection of candidates based on the documents submitted with the application. Only applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be called for the next stage. Starting November 21st, notification will be sent by email from the Human Resources Department. In subsequent stages, participants will have to write essays in Portuguese and English and create a spreadsheet in Excel. There will also be individual interviews in English and Portuguese.

The curriculum analysis, written exam in Portuguese and in English stages will each be worth 20 points. The Excel test will have a maximum score of 10. The interview, behavioral analysis, and previous experience stages are worth 30 points and may serve as a tiebreaker. Candidates who do not achieve a minimum score of 60% in each of the stages described above will be automatically disqualified.

The final results will be announced on December 2nd, through publication on the IMPA website. Activities are scheduled to begin on December 9th, 2019. All deadlines are subject to extension at IMPA's discretion.
