IMPA employees learn about workplace safety.

This Monday (12), IMPA employees started the morning with important learning about work accidents related to cell phone use, in a lecture by occupational medicine specialist Michelle Monteiro. The activity is part of the Internal Week for the Prevention of Work Accidents (SIPAT), promoted by the Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents (CIPA).
The program focuses on healthy habits, well-being, and workplace safety. The vice-president of CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident Prevention), Ana Paula Gimenes, comments that the goal of the commission, which is made up of eight members of the institute, is to demonstrate the importance of workplace safety.

“Our goal is to raise awareness and create a culture of safety. Many accidents are caused by carelessness, since people don't always have the correct information. When we present data and invite people to think about it, it's possible to reduce this type of accident,” commented Ana Paula.
Throughout the week, other lectures will address topics such as healthy eating, first aid, and mental health. The program also includes shiatsu sessions, auriculotherapy, blood pressure checks, heart rate monitoring, and glucose testing.
The CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident Prevention) also welcomes suggestions for improvements and accident prevention actions via email at cipa@impa.br .
