IMPA Announces List of Candidates Selected for Interviews for an Exchange Program in China

On Wednesday (12), IMPA released the list of students who have been selected to move on to the interview stage of the selection process for the international exchange program in China. The initiative is aimed at national gold medalists from the 20th edition of OBMEP and offers students the opportunity to participate in an academic, scientific, and cultural experience in Zhejiang Province.

The list of candidates selected for interviews is organized by region and in alphabetical order. A waiting list has also been made available for candidates who may be called if those selected for interviews do not qualify for the next stage. Group interviews will be held August 17–20, online. The results of this stage will be announced on August 21. Next, the shortlisted candidates will participate in individual interviews, scheduled to take place between August 25 and 28. The results of the individual interviews will be announced on August 31, and the final selection results are expected to be announced by September 4. Check out the announcement here.

In total, 26 students will be selected from Brazil’s five regions. Five spots are allocated for the North, seven for the Northeast, four for the Central-West, six for the Southeast, and four for the South. The call for applications also establishes gender equity criteria for the allocation of spots.

Academic and Cultural Experience in China

The trip will take place in Zhejiang Province, China, and aims to promote academic and cultural exchange, foster scientific development in the field of mathematics, and strengthen international cooperation among educational and research institutions.

The program is scheduled to take place between November 28 and December 14. Applicants should check the website for updates on the next steps and official announcements regarding the selection process.
