IMPA announces 2026 Summer School program

IMPA’s Summer School is coming! Aimed at undergraduate and graduate students, professors and researchers, the program will run from January 5 to February 27, 2026. For those who live outside Rio de Janeiro, the institute offers a selection process for granting a scholarship in the amount of R$ 1,200 with a duration of two months. The deadline to apply for the benefit ends on October 15. See here how to apply for financial aid.

In this edition, the Summer School will offer courses in more than 30 disciplines, as well as seminars and short courses. In scientific initiation, the disciplines of Analysis in the Straight Line and Introduction to Mathematical Economics are planned. In the master’s degree, students can choose classes on Markov Prison; Combinatorics I; Machine Learning; Themes in Visual Computing; Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces and much more.

PhD students can opt for Functional Analysis; Algebraic Curves; Topics in Mathematical Economics, Differential Topology, among others. The activities can be consulted on the IMPA website. Check it out here! Registration for the program begins on December 17.
