IDOR-Ciência Pioneira offers scholarships for OBMEP medalists.

The IDOR-Pioneering Science initiative will award ten scholarships of R$ 900 to medalists from any edition of the OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools) . Applications for the selection process will be accepted from April 1st to 12th on the website. The results will be released on May 2nd. Access the announcement here! The IDOR-Pioneering Science-OBMEP scholarship lasts for 12 months and is renewable annually, up to a limit of 60 months. According to the regulations, renewal will depend on the evaluation of the scholarship recipient's performance. The prerequisites are: being a medalist in at least one edition of the OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad for Public Schools), having a per capita income of up to 1.5 minimum wages, and being admitted to a course at a public university in the first semester of the year in which applications open, in the areas of biological and medical sciences.

To participate in the selection process, students must register and provide the documents requested in the call for applications. The selection and evaluation of candidates will be carried out by an Evaluation Committee appointed by the IMPA/Academic Extension Programs Coordination. The evaluation will take into account various criteria such as academic merit, socioeconomic status, relevance of financial support, and the candidate's performance in an interview to be conducted during the selection process.

Pioneering Science is a non-profit initiative aimed at supporting the training, development, and attraction of cutting-edge scientific talent in Brazil. This initiative originated from IDOR, a non-profit organization that has been contributing to the development of science for over 10 years in order to improve the quality of human life.

In 2023, OBMEP had already announced two other similar partnerships. IHS-Tower and the Behring Foundation also offer scholarships to medalists from the science competition who entered public universities last year. The scholarship amount offered is also R$ 900.
