ICM: Official Statement Regarding the Fire in Pavilion 3 at Riocentro

Official statement from the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2018) regarding the fire in Pavilion 3 of Riocentro.

The International Congress of Mathematicians clarifies that the holding of ICM 2018 will not be compromised by the fire that occurred on Sunday (30), in Pavilion 3 of Riocentro. The event will occupy three pavilions of the convention center, of which only one was affected.

A task force has been working on site since Sunday to keep the schedule unchanged and assess the best way to transfer activities to another pavilion.

All necessary adjustments and space reallocations are already being made, in close collaboration with Riocentro and equipment suppliers.
